Just a note

I am charmed to see that the lovely Mr. Davis of the Bellona Times has this log listed in his loglist as "Cog Hi-Lo." Catchy! Also, suggestive of some sort of bastard poker variant.

While I'm there, he also observes, "Have you ever noticed how many twentieth-century-plus poems mention the words 'poetry' or 'poem'? I recommend that you don't, 'cause once you start, it's irritating as a neighbor who plays the same Rush album every day." So true, though the (kinder and less amusing) analogy that sprang to my mind was with the experience of having pointed out to you the little marker that tells the projectionist when it's time to change reels: once blissfully invisible, now inescapably obvious. You can't unring a bell, kid.
