« Asparagus soup | Gremolata Potatoes »
It has been an excellent few days of food. Friday we had a dinner of fine Zingermans cheeses. Yesterday we had the most astounding brunch, which I will try to write more about soon. It was a nineteen-item (!) vegetarian tasting menu at Café Atlantico, a celebratory end-of-semester blowout. Today we had friends over for dinner, and I made riso in bianco with asparagus (and bread and cheese and salad), and it too was very fine.
Amazingly enough I do not even feel like a greasy little pig, after all this fine eating. No doubt the physical labor of walking all over Washington and of cleaning the apartment (which always turns out to be more physically taxing than it seems to have any right to be) have helped. It is all part of the magically higher quality of living that goes with not clambering up a slippery pile of deadlines.
