Results show that delicious ice cream and chocolate teacup in coffee becomes melty (p<.001).
When I was in Chicago last week, the 13s took us on a day-long whirlwind of entertainment, which ended up with our washing up, tired and happy, in the golden interior of the Julius Meinl Café. Everything was mit schlag, everything very continental and cozy and just what we needed. There were no cream puffs left for the profiteroles*, so they gave Jen her little scoops of ice cream in charming tiny cups of dark chocolate, with angular handles just like the ones on our coffee cups. It was all a bit much for one person to handle, so Fey helped out, and forwarded the cause of scientific inquiry while she was at it.
The teeny tiny deco cream pitchers were insanely adorable, and I should have taken a photo. We coveted them deeply, and thought they would make very fine shot glasses. But alas, none were for sale.
*Fey and I went back later and had a gorgeous big cream puff apiece. Highly recommended. Not only were the shells very good, but the vanilla cream inside was appropriately chilled, very vanilla, and just plain great. Mm.
