I'm exhausted already

Since we will be moving to a new kitchen, we will have to figure out a whole new system for making everything fit and work conveniently. Our current method of providing ourselves with sufficient storage and counter space involves two very crappy IKEA cabinets (I do not recommend their bottom-of-the-line cabinetry, shockingly enough) over which we have placed a nice thick piece of pine. Although our new place also features some empty space crying out for the addition of work room, in the form of a breakfast nook, I don't think these cabinets would begin to survive the move. So I am eyeing some less rickety alternatives, but oh my, are they uncheap. It's time, I think, to go flea market shopping.
