PLEASE ADVISE GRUNT GRUNT
Apropos not so much of cooking or eating,* but of my previous discussion of animal telegrams, I learned today in a link from Mimi Smartypants that "Domestic yaks, however, 'grunt' throughout the year - hence the specific name grunniens." How great is it to be named after your habit of grunting? Pretty great. "Ultimateungulate" is a spretty snazzy domain name, too. Good naming all around. Hear, hear.
*Though yak butter is certainly a food (and a lamp oil and hair dressing -- it's a dessert topping and a floorwax!).
