« Bread and birds | Champing at the bit »
Here it is, almost 9 pm, and my nice hardworking hungry husband* soon to come home, and have I started dinner? No, I have not, because I have been spending the last several millennia writing a soothing and (oh, how I hope and fondly dream) helpful set of emails for my students, many of whose brains are quietly exploding over the difficulty of reading Edward II. Not to mention the scene-by-scene cheat sheet I am considering writing for them next (for reference after they have done the reading for themselves, of course, what do you take me for?). Is that a terrible plan or a good one? Who knows? Without a doubt, all this helpful helping will backfire by way of being way too much to digest.
Does a concern with the lack of dinner (and breakfast and lunch, now that I come to think of it) and a little digestion metaphor suffice to make this entry thematically appropriate? Not really, BUT HEY. As they say.
*Yeeargh! "Husband"!

AIEE! Thank you, you just reminded me that I still need to see if I can get a copy from our non-print blahblah library collection.
It's going to be optional viewing a bit later on -- it's so much an adaption, not just a production, that I'm afraid it will blow their (varying degrees of) tenuous grasp of the original text right out of the water if they see it too soon.

"Ooh, ooh, Ms. Redfox! Is Edward II the one where he finally gets real human hands?"

Will you have them watch the movie? (the film description makes it sound as if they might need some post-viewing soothing)
