I drew a picture of a self-mashing potato. Then I took a picture of it with my iSight, because the scanner does not work. That is all.
Well, not quite, because I also drew pictures of two other suicidal potatoes.

That is well and truly all. Thank you.

Would you feel no guilt? And of course there is also the question of what is to be done with the arms.
This morning I did a poignant impression of the top potato ("I hate me, I hate me, I hate me, I hate me!") and S. said, "You must never draw those again."
Posted by redfox at March 3, 2004 09:03 AMPersonally, I think it must be a self-loathing grad student. Because a potato probably has a lot of potato friends and a potato social life to live for.
Posted by ladygoat at March 3, 2004 09:23 AMthis is the saddest thing i have ever seen.
Posted by judith at March 3, 2004 12:43 PMNah, no guilt. I'd be happy to help the potato manifet its True Self.
On the other hand, I'm far enough away from both the Dreaded Exams (in the course of studying for which I managed to achieve a state of still permanent allergies -- all Zyrtec, all the time) AND the Diss (which is like no other thing you'll have to write ever) that I don't really see the potato as a grad student.
Nope. It's a potato, BEGGING to be thrown in a bowl with butter and sea salt.
And you, darlin', are NOT a potato.
Time to run away for a bit.
Oh -- forgot to tell you -- I am SO envious of the fresh food delivery. May have to reorder my life os I can have this too.
Did you get leeks?
Posted by Anne at March 4, 2004 08:48 AMI want my vegetables, and I want them NOW! But the deliveries do not start until May, alas.

Those are some very fine potatoes, and if they came in Yukon Gold I'd go buy them up.
